The Meters – The Kingfish Lounge – Baton Rouge, LA – 10.01.1976

“Feel good music, I’ve been told / Is good for your body, and is good for your soul.”

It’s time for some feel good music, New Orleans style, to celebrate Fat Tuesday.   If this doesn’t get you moving, then I’m not sure what will.

This outstanding recording is from right before The Meters broke up in 1977.   They toured with The Rolling Stones  in 1975 and played a funky version of “Honky Tonk Woman” at this live concert.   The 20min version of “Ain’t No Use” is fantastic.

Here is “Hey Pocky Way” for you to enjoy.
