Los Lobos – The Fillmore – San Francisco, CA – 1998-12-05

by Luke Harris on August 5, 2009

loslobosContinuing in the Fillmore run from 1998, here is the second night.   Plenty of guests come out to jam on this one.   A couple weeks ago I saw Los Lobos play a street concert in the suburbs of Chicago.   They had a bunch of young kids come out to play with them.   Which was pretty cool to see, and a couple of them could really play.   It was a great show, Los Lobos can still rock!

You can sample the tune “Maricela” over here.

Man oh man, you are really doing us right. I can’t wait for the Atlanta show. What kind of venue was the Chi Town show? Any recordings?

The show I saw was in the street with a couple thousand people. Free too! Most of the crowd had been there all day in the heat and were toasted. Some dude spilled a full beer down my shoes. They played some blues standards, Red House, Purple Haze, Crossroads that I hadn’t heard them play before. I don’t know if it was recorded. I’ve dug up a few more Lobos shows that I will post. Narrowed it down to about 4 more essential shows. When are you heading out to see them?

Aug 28 in Hotlanta, they’re playing at the botanical gardens in Piedmont Park.
I love it when they do covers and put there own touch to them.
