Darrell Scott Band – Wintergrass – Tacoma, WA – 2.28.2004

darrelllespaul

By request from Mile High Bobby, who was at Rockygrass this last week and reported the Darrell Scott Band stole the festival.

Pictured here playing a G chord on his priceless 1957 Gibson Les Paul, which he plays on a few songs on this recording.

He plays this Wintergrass set with John Cowan, Nick Forester and Kenny Malone.

Obviously Darrell has been reading this blog and was nice enough to write a song for it.   I posted “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” over here so that you can listen to it.   Couldn’t have written a better one myself.   Thanks Darrell!

Haven’t even listened to this one yet, but THANKS! One of the all time best songwriters, not to mention musician and vocalist. This guy writes, sings and plays from the heart. If he doesn’t move you, no one will! Thanks!

You got that right, Chuck. He can really pick too, on both electric and acoustic. Thanks for the comment.

  2. He was really good. Hot Rize melted my face.
